Market Interest in Interim Leadership

I'm a new transplant to Alaska from Connecticut. In CT, I think there's a growing understanding of the value of engaging a professional interim, as opposed in just promoting someone up from inside, or having a board member step in as interim, though I'd say it's still not as strong a culture of that as in the Bay area where the network of professional interims has helped that shift. My read on Alaska so far - a whopping six weeks here - is that the nonprofit culture is also behind the curve on that. So there are definitely regional differences. It seems having a body of interim practitioners doing good work really helps - sounds like you've started to have that in northern FL, and with a number of good interim gigs behind us at Foraker, I think we're beginning to turn the tide here in AK.
